Baby Weekend

I cuddled so many babies that I can't be motivated more. My Mum hopes that I will find my way and change my mind now (as if I could...no father around) but why should I be bothered when there are so many babies to cuddle?
Our 2-day journey started on Friday morning when I picked up my Mum and first visit was to Žibřa family here in Brno, where first baby waited for us - the cuttiest baby of the trip.
We arrived at Slovakia at around half past four (Ikea was on the way so I couldn't resist) and picked up Aunt at school. She is a teacher and she doesn't have much to do...when we came she was chating with her colleagues and drinking coffee:-D. To be honest, it was almost past her hours so why not?
My second visit was to my "ex-to-be family" to see their new-born baby - Hanka. She was born on 29th April and she is so gregarious! She didn't cry at all, was awake most of the time and seemed to be listening to what we were saying. More people showed up so it was a pretty huge reunion. I was really happy to see these people. Break-up usually means that you don't see the guy's family anymore but luckily this was not the case. I see these people once a year approximately but even though our meetings are so rare, I still love them and enjoy being with them! End of the day was a family day - with my Aunt and Uncle (and wine, of course, as it is a wine region and Uncle likes to drink).
Saturday was opened by my visit to Gustafik family - little Jakubko is the most laughing baby of the trip! He is one year and 5 month so he is pretty quick to catch:-)...and he laughs wherever he goes. Then barbeque followed and meeting with kids of our own family - Adinko and Dadinko. Adinko limps and Dadinko is dressed up in pink clothes...what a weird family we are:-D! Sweet guys those two are! The barbeque was great, though it rained and at aroud two o'clock we left for home. On the way we picked up my Dad in a small village in the middle of somewere where he attended a Wine-testing Contest. He was so enthusiastic about it! He bargained a few bottles of some quality wine and even today he didn't forget to mention it:-).
Sunday is a relaxing day. After all that cuddling and visits I guess I deserve it:-)

Never Forget, Never Forgive

That sounds really awkward but it is not from my head:-). I spent my last weekend at my gradparents' place in Nový Jičín (familiarly called New Jersey) to celebrate grandfather's 75th birthday. All family with their animals (actually just 2 dogs) gathered for a garden party.
This place brings up so many memories - teenage moods, first cigarette, loads of alcohol (2 beers were more than enough), defiance, first sex, first pseudo-love and first huge disappointment. Consequences haven't been resolved up to now but I guess, it is ok anyway. I don't have to be emotionally engaged to people who stabbed me when I was not looking. I moved on and they remained where they were.
Upon my late return from a disco I realized that I am happy. Emotional earthquakes usually enable people to move forth, though it takes a while, to start from the very beginning - unwillingly. Totally negative event can turn out as totally positive - and this is what happend to me and I thank G... Someone.

Big Day for Beute Family

Last April day was a wedding day for my friends Katka and Victor - unforgettable event with perfect timing! My lack of sense for timing (that day) caused that I almost came late to the ceremony, which was really worth seeing...fancy dresses (what a coincidence - me and Radka had both dotted dresses but I swear we didn't agree on it), beutifull bride, smiling groom, scents, champagne, languge babylon, cute babies running around and official's heroic speech.

The ceremony was followed by a walk via Spilberk Castle to Brewery Restaurant at Mendlovo namesti. On the first floor there is an aula where the couple managed to fit around 60 people! The feast was awesome and I really have to mention the great "svíčková" we had (and which I almost missed). Unfortunately I (in a dotted dress) was by mistake considered a vegetarian - means I got minestrone soup instead of proper broth. A Dutch girl in a dotted dress at the other part of the long table was a reall vegetarian and she got my broth instead of her minestrone soup. Everyone around me had svíčková so I had to increase my voice to get it too:-) Sooo yummyyy!
After the lunch/dinner (how do we call a meal at 4 o'clock p.m.?) - linner/lunner/whatever - the party started. More guys showed up, brought a bunch of funny activities - both the Czech and the Dutch parts - and also Queensday was not neglected (though we were not aware of the sad circumstance that happened that day in Holland - a guy crushed with his car into a crowd and killed several people, though he wanted to kill the Queen). Orange colour rocks!
