Punch & Coffee Time

Hot-wine season has started! Yesterday I had my first punch. There are stands all over Namesti Svobody so I spent my lunch break with my friend strolling around and choosing the best one. She had red punch with strawberries and I had one made of white wine (plus some secret ingredients) with strawberries at the bottom too. Other stands are selling food specialities of fast food kind so I think I will save these for December lunch breaks, when I am too lazy to cook.
Exceptionally I skipped my afternoon coffee at Kofi-Kofi. Haven't you heard of it yet? Sham on you! This bicycle-driven coffee cart stands every day at the corner of Ceska and Jostova streets and sells coffee. Suprisingly simple concept but Brno has been missing something of this kind for a long long time! The staff is well trained, price is reasonable and coffee is magnificent. They are adding sirups into cappuccinos or lattes if you wish - irish cream, vanilla, speculoos biscuits, amarreto, caramel etc. Special of the day is announced on the old-fashioned blackboard. Coffee is so yummy, that it makes me go up to Ceska street to obtain some cups for myself and my colleagues at work.
The overall concept of this cart is very inventive - the "owner" (someone I don't know) though it through very well. He trains people to become good coffee-makers, supports his business via his webpage www.kofikofi.cz, posts comments on Facebook and tweets new messages. Rain and frost are the enemies so I am slightly affraid that the cart won't be selling coffee during cold winter days. At least I can swap to hot wines and I am looking forward to seeing new carts that were announced on the web so that I do not have to run up to Ceska for another great coffee :)
